Support Valhalla
Valhalla has been free to play since 1991 and always will be. The game is run by volunteers, but the server it lives on is not free: hosting, backups and the domain are paid for out of pocket by the people who keep it online. If Valhalla has given you a few good evenings, a few good years, or a few good friends, a donation helps keep the gates of Midgaard open for the next player who wanders in.
The link opens PayPal's secure donation page for Valhalla MUD. You can give any amount, once or monthly, with a PayPal account or a card.
What your donation pays for
- The server that runs the game, the web client and this site.
- Daily backups of every player, so nothing you have earned is ever lost.
- The valhalla.com domain and its certificates.
Nothing is for sale
A donation buys no levels, no equipment and no favours. Everyone walks the same roads and fights the same dragons. Donating is simply a way to say thank you, and the staff say thank you back.
Other ways to help
Not everyone can give money, and that is fine. Bring a friend into the game, answer a question on the newbie channel, report a typo or a bug with typo or bug in the game, or ask about building an area of your own. All of it keeps Valhalla alive.
